Quainton Hills also turned up this female Redstart

A scarce bird in the county, this Pied Flycatcher was at Quainton Hills

Mandarins continue to spread in the county.  This pair were at Marlow in early April.  Also photo from Burnham Beeches

 

A close relative of the Goldcrest below, this Firecrest was in Wendover Woods

 

This rather nice Goldcrest was visiting a garden in Chesham

 

These early Little Ringed Plovers were in Mid Bucks

 

This super Yellow Wagtail was at Hillesden

 

These Avocets were at Willen Lake for one day in late March

 

There are some interesting facts of the origin of this bird, seen at Broughton Trout Pools in Feb and March

  
This male Peregrine Falcon is one of a pair that are resident in the centre of Aylesbury.
A nesting platform was erected by the Bucks County Council in early 2008.

Little Grebe at Calvert in Mid February

 

Another Iceland Gull at Calvert, this time an adult in early March

 

A farm in the Haddenham area was the location for this Tree Sparrow

 

A very scarce bird in the county, this Willow Tit was photographed in the Vale of Aylesbury during February.

This Barn Owl was photographed in the Vale of Aylesbury

 
 

Hidden in this photo is a Glaucous Gull.  Photos of this species at Calvert and Little Marlow added.

 

Yes there is a bird in this photo.  This species is always very hard to see.

 

This Lesser Redpoll was visiting a Stowe garden.

 

2007/7 has been a good winter for Bramblings.  Two photos added of birds at Stowe.

Sadly this Little Auk was taken into care and died. 

 

This Bittern has been frequently Calvert since mid January

 

An unusual visitor to Calvert Lake in the form of a partial albino Bullfinch

Calvert Lake again produced an Iceland Gull, this one in January
 
Yet another Great Grey Shrike, also very elusive this time at Princes Risborough in early January and still present as of 13th.
 
 
The Great Grey Shrike has proven to be very elusive at Quainton Hills but was relocated on 29th December and seen on several days in January.
