Bucks Bird Club/BTO Conference

The 8th Conference will take place in Cheddington Village Hall on 23rd October 2004. (Cheddingtin is just north of the Tring Reservoirs and the village hall at approximately SP 924176).


The theme of the conference is :-

"Man and Birds - Sharing the Environment".

The conference is open to anyone. It provides an opportunity to meet other enthusiasts and learn more about a variety of bird study projects. The day commences at 9:30am with registration of participants, coffee and an early opportunity to view the BTO, Bucks Bird Club and other local bird and conservation groups’ STALL/DISPLAYS, buy from COMMERCIAL stalls and enter the COMPETITIONS. Lectures follow and continue, with a short break, until an extended lunchtime, which provides a further opportunity to mingle and look around the stalls. The afternoon session includes further lectures, a break for tea and the declaration of competition results. The conference will close at approximately 5:00pm.

Bridget Griffin - (BTO) - "The Swallow Roost Project"
Kirsty Meadows (RSPB) - "Farmland Birds in the Chilterns"
Graham Appleton (BTO) - "House Sparrow - Why the Decline?"


The cost of £12.50 includes tea, coffee and lunch (£10-50 for senior citizen or full time student).
Tickets MUST BE PRE-BOOKED.  Refunds available for cancellations up to 7 days prior to the conference (less 10% deduction for administrative costs).
